Visit the indigenous communities of the region, such as the Tsachilas and Cayapas. You may share their culture, ancestral rituals and natural medicine.

The Tsachilas are also called "Colorados" (reds) because the men of this culture have colored their hair red for centuries, with a vegetable dye extracted from the seed of the "achiote".

The Cayapa Indians are an indigenous South American group who live along the Cayapas River in the northwestern part of Ecuador. Their language is the Chapala.

Archeological sites
Puerto Quito has been a place at which different cultures from the Coast and the Andes have established contact since prehistory. Here you will find pre-historical remaining from different regions, associated to three pre-history periods: Formative, Regional Development and Integration. Due to the number of sites encountered, the “Jama-Coaque” culture is the most relevant within the Regional Development period.
